ServicesScreenplay Critiquing Service

IMAGE offers a cost-effective program aimed at helping to make your screenplay market ready. Unlike screenwriting contests, this year-round service provides a detailed breakdown of your work.

Areas covered include:

  • Professional Presentation
    • Does your script look professional? Have you overlooked spelling and grammatical errors? Is it written in the proper format?
  • The First Ten Pages
    • Do they grip the reader? Do they establish the mood and direction? Are your characters vividly introduced?
  • The Storyline
    • Does it flow towards a definitive climax? Is there sufficient conflict? Is it too predictable?
  • Character Development
    • Are your characters well rounded? Is there a clear character arc?

$100.00 for IMAGE members

$115.00 for the general public (plus $15.00 for filing and postage)

Scripts will be evaluated on a monthly basis; the deadline for submission is the 5th of each month.

Participating readers have analyzed scripts for Turner Network Television, Newline/Fineline, Phoenix Pictures, Independent Film Chanel, Home Box Office, the National Endowment for the Arts and others.

The Screenplay Critiquing Service Application and Release Agreement is available here for download, or you can write or call IMAGE for an application.

IMAGE no longer produces the Southeastern Screenwriting Competition. We have found that our year round critiquing service is more effective than this once a year event.
