 Southeastern Media Award The Atlanta Film Festival’s Southeastern Media Award has been presented to an individual artist each year since 1995 in an attempt to recognize and promote regional filmmaking. The award, consisting of generous in-kind donations by local businesses and individuals, is given to a film that will shoot in Georgia. The winner is judged on the basis of the finished script, budget, artist statements, and the backgrounds of those involved. Past winners include THE LAST ADAM by Ed Banuel, Shandra McDonald, and Erroll Bailey (Georgia, 2005); THE ADVENTURES OF OCIEE NASH by Amy McGary and Kristen McGary (Georgia, 2002); Academy Award® Winner THE ACCOUNTANT by Ray McKinnon (Georgia, 2001); GEORGE WASHINGTON by David Gordon Green (North Carolina, 2000)
